Success at National River Cleanup Day 2025!

This year, we had a small but mighty group of volunteers join us for National River Cleanup Day at the Vietnamese Heritage Garden. Our dedicated peeps always inspire us that they are improving our community! Every time we cleanup our creek, we can accomplish great things together.

Here are some highlights from the event:

  • 26 volunteers came to help out

  • 61 bags of trash were removed, equalling about 2,313 pounds!

  • We found some interesting things including: a hanging potted plant, giant blue plastic barrel, and a metal cart

These photos truly capture the incredible impact this group has made—it’s amazing to see the difference in action!

And, of course, there's a chicken and mallards.

Since this was a regional event, other groups hosted sites, including the Santa Clara County Parks, SF Bay Wildlife Society and San Jose Environment. Additionally, San Jose's Mayor Matt Mahan hosted a State of the City event near Guadalupe River, and our colleagues from South Bay Clean Creeks Coalition hosted 30 volunteers who removed over 500 pounds of trash from the creeks.

Check out more of our photos for some additional photos of all ther hard work!
