Job Opening
Event Assistant
We are looking for an Event Assistant to be at our events on the weekends and prepare and process the events upon completion. This position is both virtual to prepare and process the events, and in-person at the events. Online work involves using Eventbrite, Facebook, Mailchimp, and Google docs. Be part of our fun team who wants to share the beauty of and beautify Coyote Creek.

Education Coordinator
We are looking for an experienced environmental educator for this virtual and onsite part-time position. The role requires that the Education Coordinator prepare, provide education services, and program follow up for elementary through high schools and participate in additional public events. The Education Coordinator reports to the Executive Director. Additionally, they will work closely with other staff members and volunteers. Based on funding availability, this position may become full-time.

Volunteer Roles
Creek Cleanup Team Leaders
One of our most frequent activities is creek and trail cleanups. We are looking for volunteers to be Action Team Leaders, who can demonstrate leadership qualities to lead a team of 15 people of varying ages using our safety protocols to conduct a cleanup. Our events usually have 3-5 team leaders who work in a section of the trail or creek. As a team leader, you ensure that your group safely removes trash while avoiding poison oak and keeping good footing.

Naturalist Internship
This part-time position is an opportunity to combine a love of nature and Coyote Creek in our hands-on BioBlitz program. The position will be in-person on one or two weekend days per month at a park in the San Jose area. To learn more about the local ecology and methodology of a BioBlitz, the intern will be paired with an experienced naturalist. After the BioBlitz event, the intern will review observations from the event on iNaturalist on a computer and make family, genus or species identifications.

BioBlitz Docent
Combine a love of nature and Coyote Creek in our hands-on BioBlitz program. Come out to for a couple of hours as a Docent at park in the San Jose area and share your knowledge of the local ecology to families and others who want to learn about nature in our parks. Typically you'll be paired with another docent so you can share different aspects of nature while learning from each other.
