Creek Quest - NEW Fall 2026
KCCB’s newest program, Creek Quest, invites students to step outside the four walls of the classroom and become watershed detectives as they explore Coyote Creek at Hellyer County Park.
During these hands-on, two-hour explorations, students in grades 2–5 (ages 7–11) will use their senses to investigate the natural world, discover how local watersheds work, and uncover what it means to be a steward of our environment. Along the way, they’ll observe, ask questions, make connections, and build a deeper appreciation for the place they call home.
Led by professional naturalists and educators, Creek Quest is designed
to bring science and environmental learning to life while helping students:
-
Build meaningful connections with nature
-
Strengthen observation and critical-thinking skills
-
Explore local watersheds and the role they play in our community
-
Discover what it means to care for and protect our environment
-
Learn through movement, exploration, and hands-on discovery
Give your students the opportunity to learn where the learning is happening—in the creek, under the trees, and out in the world.
