Almaden Quicksilver BioBlitz

What a day! We had a great turnout for our BioBlitz at Almaden Quicksilver County Park on Saturday, April 13th starting at the Mocking Bird Hill entrance. With over 100 participants, we had over 1,700 observations resulting in over 300 species.

As the group marched out onto the trails, they found a lot of wildlife thanks to our docents who guided them, as well as the nice brochure.

The critters we found include common fiddleneck, California buckeye, soldier beetles, western fence lizard, painted lady butterfly, and lesser goldfinch bird.

There is so much beauty in our parks. Be sure to check them out and learn about what's in nature during our BioBlitz events or on your own.

For a complete list, you can see them on the iNaturalist page for this event. We hope you enjoyed it too.
